Baghdad's Medicine

In the 10th century medicine was becoming more and more developed, the Muslims were learning, teaching and using everything from their ancient medical texts stored in the Abbasid caliphs huge library of medical books. Scholars at the House of Wisdom translated these books from Greek to Arabic. The Muslims learnt a lot from the Greeks, including how to examine a patient carefully before prescribing treatment, they also started to use alcohol as an antiseptic and they learnt about the use of drugs and herbs to treat and heal diseases.
